Kylin Software Donates openKylin Community to Open Atom Open Source Foundation

TapTechNews September 26th news, the 2024 OpenAtom Open Source Ecosystem Conference opened in Beijing on September 25th, with the theme of 'Open source empowering industries, ecosystem building the future', to jointly explore the innovative applications and ecosystem construction of open source in the field of artificial intelligence.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Kylin Software publicly announced that it will donate the openKylin community to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, achieving the first case of open source donation by a central enterprise in China.

Kylin Software said at the conference that this donation marks that openKylin has advanced from enterprise-led to industry co-construction and community autonomy. Subsequently, openKylin will integrate the contributions of global participants in a more open mode.

The openKylin (Open Kirin) open source community was officially established in 2022. At present, more than 560 enterprises have become community members, and the cumulative number of users has exceeded 1.7 million, coming from more than 188 countries and regions, and the community has released 8 desktop system versions.
