Ideal Auto Sues Car Blogger 'Dong Laosi Talking About Cars' for Alleged Infringement

TapTechNews August 12th news, yesterday the car blogger Dong Laosi Talking About Cars released a video on Douyin stating that he received a lawsuit notice from Beijing Ideal Auto Co., Ltd. in the Wujin District Court of Changzhou City. TapTechNews noted that the blogger currently has 352,000 fans on Douyin.

According to Dong Laosi Talking About Cars, on March 6th of this year, he released a 45-second video reenacting a桥段 from the movie Crazy Racer on the Dong Laosi Talking About Cars account. Although the video was taken down by Ideal's complaint within one day after its release, but Ideal believes that this video has had a negative impact on its MEGA model, resulting in a decline in its sales.

Ideal Auto pointed out that most of the works of the Dong Laosi Talking About Cars account have more than 10,000 likes, which is difficult for ordinary accounts to achieve such high traffic and is a marketing account. It believes that its behavior constitutes an infringement on the MEGA model, and has caused damage to the entrepreneur's image and losses to the national economy.

In response, Dong Laosi Talking About Cars said that he is not a marketing account and has not signed with any MCN agency. His creative content is all based on hotspots and results for deductive creation, and the Ideal MEGA model has already been launched. He believes that the image and sales of MEGA are mainly determined by its design and price.

Ideal Auto requires Dong Laosi Talking About Cars to delete the video, publicly apologize for 30 days, compensate 1 million yuan ($144,000), and bear the litigation costs.

Dong Laosi Talking About Cars said that he was not instigated by anyone and did not obtain illegal benefits from this video, and did not instruct netizens to comment. He is willing to communicate with Ideal Auto and its founder Li Xiang in Beijing.
