Taobao to Adjust Service Rules, Compensation to Be in Red Envelope Form

TapTechNews September 20th news, Taobao is planning to adjust the rules such as the Taobao Net 'Full Weight and Full Quantity' Service Specification. This rule change was publicized on September 20, 2024, and will take effect on September 27, 2024.

TapTechNews noticed that in the specific change contents of each service specification, the compensation from the seller to the buyer has changed/add in the form of red envelopes for compensation.

Taobao Net 'Full Weight and Full Quantity' Service Specification

Taobao Net sellers who join the Full Weight and Full Quantity service must fulfill the following service commitments:

5.2 If the seller fails to fulfill the Full Weight and Full Quantity service, for each sub-order, the seller must compensate the buyer with 30% of the actual transaction amount (minimum 5 yuan, maximum 200 yuan) in cash. If the buyer abuses this specification to initiate a service application, Taobao Net does not support compensation.

Taobao Net sellers who join the Full Weight and Full Quantity service must fulfill the following service commitments:

Taobao Net 'Broken Package Return' Service Specification

Taobao Net sellers who join the Broken Package Return service must fulfill the following service promises:

(III) Service guarantee

If it is determined that the buyer applies and submits valid vouchers under the conditions that meet the application requirements of Article 6 and the burden of proof requirements of Article 7, and the seller still refuses, the seller must compensate the buyer with 10% of the actual refund amount of the commodity, and the compensation amount shall not exceed 30 US dollars at most and not be less than 3 US dollars. If the buyer abuses this specification to initiate a service application, Taobao Net does not support compensation.

Taobao Net sellers who join the Broken Package Return service must fulfill the following service promises:
