China Unicom and ZTE Complete 5G-A Related Verification

TapTechNews May 17th news, China Unicom Research Institute announced a cooperation with ZTE, and took the lead in completing the commercial verification of 300 MHz ultra-large bandwidth combined with 1024 quadrature amplitude modulation (1024QAM) in the industry, successfully achieving a peak rate of 5.52 Gbps per single user.

TapTechNews note: 5G-A is fully known as 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G, which is the technological evolution of 5G. Compared to 5G, it can achieve significant improvements in capacity, rate, delay, positioning, reliability, etc.

China Unicom said that the company uses 3-carrier aggregation (3CC) technology to aggregate three frequency bands of 3.3G, 3.4G, and 3.5G to form an ultra-large 300 MHz broadband. At the same time, the 1024QAM modulation technology increases the information carrying capacity of each signal unit, achieving 10-bit data transmission per symbol. Compared with 256QAM, it increases the rate and efficiency by 25% under the same bandwidth.
