Microsoft Releases Cumulative Updates for Windows 11

Thanks to TapTechNews forum user for the tip! TapTechNews reported on May 15 that Microsoft has released KB5037771 cumulative update for Windows 11 users. The update brings the version number to Build 22621.3593 for 22H2 users and Build 22631.3593 for 23H2 users. In addition, Microsoft has also rolled out KB5037770 update for 21H2 users, upgrading the system version number to 22000.2960. This update mainly addresses a crash issue affecting the IE mode, which could lead to unresponsiveness when pressing the left arrow key in an empty text box with the “Insertion Point Browser” feature enabled. Furthermore, the update also converts the Croatian currency from Kuna to Euro and resolves issues that may cause VPN connection failure after installing updates dated April 9, 2024, or later. The update also includes other bug fixes as summarized by TapTechNews: Updates country and operator settings assets (COSA) configuration profile for certain mobile operators. Updates the quarterly changes to the Windows kernel susceptible attack driver inhibition list file DriverSiPolicy.p7b, adding a list of drivers at risk of being targeted by Bring-Your-Own-Vulnerability-Driver (BYOVD) attacks. Resolves an issue affecting ActiveDirectory where requests bound to an IPv6 address will fail if the requester is not joined to the domain. Fixes a potential issue affecting domain controllers (DC) where NTLM authentication traffic may increase. Addresses an issue affecting Group Policy folder redirection in a multi-forest deployment, preventing selection of a group account from the target domain, therefore unable to apply advanced folder redirection settings to that domain. This issue affects all Enhanced Security Administrative Environment (ESAE), Hardened Forests (HF), or Privileged Access Management (PAM) deployments with one-way trusts between the target domain and the domain of the managing user. Resolves a potential issue affecting Virtual Secure Mode (VSM) scenarios such as VPN, Windows Hello, Credential Guard, and Key Guard.
