Microsoft Edge Browser Update Version 125 and New Features

TapTechNews May 18th news, the version number of Microsoft Edge browser desktop version has now come to 125, and the first stable version number is 125.0.2535.51.

Microsoft said that since the Microsoft Defender Application Guard extension has been deactivated (and the program will not be migrated to the Edge Manifest V3 version), the corresponding extension and associated Windows Store applications will be deactivated in May 2024, which will affect the following browsers at that time:

For the new features in version 125.0.2535.51, Microsoft mainly improved the copy/paste control experience in Edge, optimized the display part of the new workspace color, and will provide a full favorites bar for the workspace.

In addition, the new version also has patch programs for zero-day vulnerabilities CVE-2024-4947 and CVE-2024-4761.

Function Updates

Improved the user experience of the Purview copy/paste control in Edge. Now, the dialog box will be automatically closed after a successful paste, making our Purview cut/copy/paste experience more user-friendly. The existing 'Paste to Supported Browsers' setting allows organizations to categorize and protect the content their users can paste - either to specific websites or through supported browsers.

New workspace color display: Browser window outline. Now each workspace will have a dedicated color, which will be displayed as an outline on the browser window. TapTechNews reminds : This feature is a controlled feature, and Microsoft will roll it out in batches.

A full favorites bar is provided in the workspace. Now, the workspace will display all the user's favorites in the favorites bar, and the dedicated workspace folder can also be accessed in the favorites bar.
