Canonical Announces Ubuntu 24.10 Feature Plan with Notable Improvements

One of the most notable improvements is that by default, Wayland is supported for Nvidia users, and the support for full-disk encryption (FDE) based on TPM is extended.

TapTechNews quoted the content in the press release. The Canonical team stated that the primary task of the Ubuntu 24.10 distribution is to improve the support of TPMFDE. It will actively modify according to the feedback and opinions submitted by users, invite and attract more users to use this function to create a safer usage environment.

The team will also redesign the welcome wizard to unify and install the program experience. Ubuntu 24.10 will also be equipped with the GNOME 47 desktop environment and is expected to be released on September 18th.
