Hermen Hulst, currently serving as the head of PlayStation Studios, will become the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Worldwide Studios.

Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Platform Business Division. Both will report to Sony's CFO and Chairman of SIE, Hiroki Totoki.

TapTechNews Note: Sony announced that Ryan will step down from his position as President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) in March 2024 after 30 years with the company.

Hiroki Totoki, President, COO, and CFO of Sony Corporation, will serve as the interim CEO of SIE following Ryan's departure.

In his statement about his departure, Ryan mentioned the difficulties he faced balancing family life in Europe with work responsibilities in North America. He said:

After 30 years with the company, I have decided to retire from SIE in March 2024. I have enjoyed working in a very special company doing a job that I love, alongside exceptional colleagues and incredible partners.

However, I have found it increasingly difficult to reconcile living in Europe with working in North America.

I leave with pride because I have been fortunate to be involved in products that have impacted the lives of millions globally; PlayStation will always be a part of my life, and I am more optimistic about the future of SIE than ever before. I want to thank Mr. Yoshida for the trust he placed in me and for being a very sensitive and supportive leader.
