Ubisoft's XDefiant to Launch Preseason on May 21st

TapTechNews May 17th news, Ubisoft's free multiplayer FPS game XDefiant will launch its preseason (Season 0) on May 21st, landing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X and PC (Ubisoft Store) platforms, and Ubisoft officially released the game's launch trailer at the same time.

In Ubisoft's world where free-to-play first-person arena shooting games intersect, players will compete in fast-paced online battles! Engage in an evolving experience and enjoy the new playable factions regularly updated, as well as the increasing maps, weapons and game modes. Through cross-platform play functionality, players will be able to join their friends' gameplay across game platforms with this feature.

According to the introduction, the preseason of XDefiant will last for 6 weeks, and there are 5 factions, 14 maps, 5 modes, 24 weapons and 44 attachments in the preseason.

After the preseason is completed, it will enter the normal season. Each normal season is 3 months, and each season will introduce new weapons, maps, events and factions. In the first year of the game, 4 new factions, 12 new weapons and 12 new maps will be launched.

TapTechNews learned that the XDefiant game was officially announced in July 2021, and its theme is to merge the characters and settings from several Tom Clancy's series games of Ubisoft into a hero shooter game, which is a fast-paced free FPS game.

This game allows players to experience the game with 5 major factions inspired by Ubisoft's game IP, namely: The Cleaners (from The Division), Libertad (from Far Cry 6), Echelon (from Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell), and Shadow Company (from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Phantoms) and DedSec.

Each faction contains 3 characters, but only 1 character will be unlocked for now. Other characters can be unlocked through quests. Although the game progress of this event will not be retained in the official release version, players can keep more than 10 exclusive decorative items obtained to the official version.
