Microsoft Announces Updates to Windows 10 and Windows 11 Office Apps with Enhanced UDP

TapTechNews July 9th news, Microsoft Corporation today (July 9th) posted a blog inviting Microsoft 365 users to test the new versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications for Windows 10 and Windows 11, mainly enhancing the User Defined Permission (UDP) to optimize document protection.

Covering the most common usage scenarios: Viewer (who can view), RestrictedEditor (restricted editor), Editor (full editor), and Owner (document owner).

Users can dynamically divide the access/edit rights of individuals or organizations according to their needs, and can use the More Options to flexibly customize document permissions.

A more modern People Picker

Users search for selected people or groups from the organization or external domain and assign permissions to them. This feature provides faster and more reliable performance in real-time verification of names and permissions.

More intuitive design
