Global Tablet Shipment Declines by 3% in Q1 2024

TapTechNews reported on May 13th that according to market research firm TechInsights, the global tablet shipment in Q1 2024 is approximately 32.3 million units, a 3% year-on-year decrease. TapTechNews provided the shipment volumes of various brands: Apple shipped 11.4 million units, an 11% decrease, with a market share of 35%. Samsung shipped 6.7 million units, leading the Android market with a 4% decrease and a market share of 21%. Lenovo shipped 2.3 million units, a 20% growth, with a market share increased to 7%. Amazon shipped 2.2 million units, an 18% decrease, with a market share of 7%. Xiaomi shipped 2 million units, a significant 117% increase, with a market share of 6%. The firm's analysis stated that the performance of Apple's iPad was disappointing, continuing to hinder the market's full recovery. The suppressed demand for new models will drive the tablet market to achieve growth in the middle of 2024. With Samsung's performance exceeding expectations and Lenovo and Xiaomi achieving strong growth in the quarter, the market share of Android tablets has reached 52%, the highest level in two years.
