China and Other Countries Revised Two UN Global Technical Regulations on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

TapTechNews August 8th news, the official website of the United Nations officially released two new global technical regulations, No. 21 Power Test Method for Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Pure Electric Vehicles Driven by Multiple Motors and No. 22 Durability of On-board Batteries for Light Electric Vehicles, which were jointly revised and completed by China and many other countries.

TapTechNews found that there are currently 24 global technical regulations. For the revision of the regulation Method for Determining the Power of Hybrid and Multi-motor Driven Pure Electric Vehicles, the Chinese representative previously proposed a test plan for the power determination method of the highly integrated oil-cooled hybrid drive system, and the participating experts proposed that China provide the relevant transmission efficiency of the reducer, and write it into the GTR21 second-stage regulation together with the test plan.

The main drafting units include China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd., Chongqing Changan New Energy Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., and BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd.

Relatively, the national standard plan Durability Requirements and Test Methods for On-board Power Batteries of Electric Vehicles - Part 1: Light Vehicles has also been issued in April this year and is still in the process of being drafted. The main drafting units include China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. and BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd.
