AMD Redesigning Ryzen 79700X with Higher TDP

TapTechNews June 27 news, the tech media WccFtech reported that AMD is redesigning the Ryzen 79700X processor internally and will increase the TDP from the currently officially announced 65 watts to 120 watts.

AMD announced the Ryzen 79700X processor at Computex Taipei 2024, mainly targeting gamers, with 8 cores, 16 threads, a base clock frequency of 3.8 GHz, an acceleration clock frequency of 5.5 GHz, and 40 MB of cache, which is 100 MHz faster than the AMD Ryzen 77700X based on the Zen4 core architecture.

TapTechNews quoted sources as reporting that AMD, considering the success and popularity of the Ryzen 77800X3D (a 3D V-Cache enhanced chip), is considering adjusting the positioning of the Ryzen 79700X processor and increasing the base/acceleration clock frequencies.
