According to the latest statement, PlayStation's single-player games will not be released on the PC platform simultaneously with the console version.

Hermen Hulst explained that Sony's current goal is to have all live-service titles launch on the PC platform simultaneously on the release day. TapTechNews noted that this strategy has been successful with Helldivers 2, which has exceeded 12 million total sales.

However, for single-player games, Sony's main purpose is to attract PC players to buy PS5. By allowing players to experience well-known IP works such as Ghost of Tsushima and God of War, PlayStation hopes that PC players will anticipate the sequels of these series and buy PS5 for experiencing the new works.

Hermen Hulst further stated that works like The Last of Us, which has been adapted into a TV series, also play a similar role. The ultimate goal of all these measures is to support Sony's console ecosystem.

Hermen Hulst said, We introduce outstanding game series to new player groups. We expect to attract more players to join the PlayStation platform.

In addition, the co-CEO also said that Sony is seeking ways to reduce the cost of game development, and they hope to achieve significant results through outsourcing and joint development.
