Microsoft Introduces New 3D Fluent Illustrations Design Scheme
TapTechNews September 21 news, Microsoft Design's official blog released a blog post this week, introducing the brand-new Fluent Illustrations design scheme, abandoning the previous flat design and bringing a 3D three-dimensional style.
Current Fluent design
Microsoft said that based on existing research and surveys, although the existing Fluent design meets elements such as colorful, inclusive, and approachable, it is considered uninteresting and emotionless in consumer culture.
Microsoft said: The once highly popular flat vectorized style across the industry now has unsatisfactory communication effects, and some of the creativity and themes may deviate from the values of our company.
Brand-new 3D Fluent design
The Microsoft Design and Microsoft Brand teams collaborated to decide to change the illustration style. Although the related icons and other designs will still be colorful, the new Fluent Illustrations style gives them a 3D look.
The blog added:
The camera positioning and perspective functions in the Fluent Elevation system can build our 3D illustrations on tangible surfaces, bringing a three-dimensional feel to the experience without distracting users' attention from interaction.
In addition to the new 3D look, Microsoft Design is also making what is called sophisticated renders, claiming that it can better communicate with the public.
Microsoft also said that its new icons will be more playful and will include more organic shapes rather than the sharp designs of current icons and illustrations.
