Capcom's Monster Hunter Series Updates and Milestones

TapTechNews on May 30th, Capcom's Monster Hunter: World announced on May 18th that there will be a permanent discount on Steam. The series has now launched a promotional campaign on the Steam platform. Monster Hunter: World and its DLC 'Iceborne' have reached new all-time lows, with a current approval rating of 91%:

On May 14th, Capcom also announced that the cumulative global sales of the Monster Hunter series have exceeded 100 million copies, among which the sales of Monster Hunter: World has exceeded 25 million copies (including Iceborne) and continues to set new records. Monster Hunter: Rise has exceeded 15 million copies, and Monster Hunter: Rise Sunbreak has exceeded 8 million copies.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the birth of Monster Hunter, the latest installment of the series, Monster Hunter: Wildlands, will be landing on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms in early 2025.

In fact, Golem previously reported that Capcom had started the development work of Monster Hunter: Wildlands as early as 2019, meaning that this game has been brewing in Capcom's development lab for 6 years.

Golem爆料 that the game producer 'fully let go' of the development of Monster Hunter: Wildlands, indicating that this game will contain many of the abandoned ideas and gameplay from Monster Hunter: World before.

In addition, Golem stated in the爆料 that Monster Hunter: Wildlands will be a 'completely open world'. TapTechNews reported earlier that Resident Evil 9 and Monster Hunter: Wildlands will be similar to Dragon's Dogma 2, adopting a new open-world technology based on the RE Engine.
