Meta Announces New Multi-Year Cooperation Agreement with Universal Music Group

TapTechNews August 13th news, Meta company yesterday released an announcement, announcing the deepening of cooperation with Universal Music Group and reaching a new multi-year cooperation agreement.

In the announcement, Meta company stated that the new agreement reflects the joint commitment to protecting human creators and art, including ensuring that artists and songwriters receive fair compensation and helping artists and songwriters provide broader development space and business opportunities on Meta platforms.

The two companies did not disclose the details of the agreement, but both sides said they will further promote the creation and operation of UMG artists and songwriters of Universal Music Publishing Group on Meta platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Horizon, Threads, and WhatsApp (appearing for the first time).

TapTechNews learned from the report that both companies hope to ensure fair compensation for artists and songwriters and curb the impact of unauthorized AI-generated content on artists.
