Huawei and Beijing Unicom Build World's Largest 5G-A 3CC Network in Beijing

TapTechNews August 6th news, Huawei, in collaboration with Beijing Unicom, has built the world's super-large-scale 5G-A (5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G) 3CC commercial network in Beijing, achieving comprehensive coverage of 5G-A in major core areas such as within the Fourth Ring Road and the sub-center of the city.

The overall scale of this super-large-scale 5G-A 3CC commercial network exceeds 4000 base stations and covers various key scenarios including sports stadiums, schools, scenic areas, subways, business districts, and residential areas, such as Wukesong, the First Sports Center, the Workers' Stadium, Beijing Railway Station, Guijie, Panjiayuan, and Beijing University of Technology, with a 5G-A activation ratio of more than 70%.

Since Beijing Unicom and Huawei commercialized the world's largest-scale 3.5GHz 2CC urban network in August 2022, the activation ratio of 200 MHz 2CC has exceeded 85%, achieving comprehensive coverage of the core areas and the sub-center of the city in Beijing.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, Huawei's Yu Chengdong previously stated that this year is the first year of 5.5G commercial use, bringing higher bandwidth and lower latency. The downlink rate is increased by 10 times to 10 Gbps, and the uplink rate is increased to 1 Gbps, and the number of connections reaches 100 billion.
