Father of 'Final Fantasy' Says No Interest in Returning to Direct the Series

TapTechNews July 5th news, in an interview with Bloomberg, Sakaguchi Hironobu, the father of 'Final Fantasy', said that he has no interest in returning to direct the 'Final Fantasy' series of games and just wants to be a player.

Sakaguchi Hironobu worked for Square Enix for 20 years and created the publisher's most profitable and popular series - 'Final Fantasy', which has become a benchmark for Japanese RPG games.

Two weeks ago, Square Enix announced that it would work with Sakaguchi Hironobu again to release a new work 'Fantasian: NeoDimension' on the Switch platform, which triggered widespread discussion among players.

Sakaguchi Hironobu said that this cooperation does not mean that he will participate in the development of the 'Final Fantasy' series project. TapTechNews translated his interview as follows:

In my heart, I have changed my role from a creator to a consumer. I now just want to enjoy the fun that the game brings as a player, rather than exploring the creative details behind the game.

If I touch the 'Final Fantasy' series again by my own hands, I'm not sure if I can still enjoy the game 'Final Fantasy 14' without restraint.
