China Telecom Satellite Company's Initiatives in Low-Altitude Applications and Satellite Communications
TapTechNews October 1st news, the China Telecom Satellite Company yesterday released an announcement, hoping to quickly create a low-altitude application solution that meets the market demand with the help of the technology of the ecological industry chain, which mentioned many aspects of the "satellite + 5G low-altitude application" business contents, including:
1. Airborne satellite + 5G fusion communication terminal, integrating Beidou, inertial navigation, 4/5G, and Tiantong module to realize flight data collection of aircraft and full airspace data communication.
2. Airborne broadband satellite communication system, including airborne broadband satellite antenna, airborne modem, etc., to build an overall solution for airborne video transmission, voice transmission, and data transmission.
3. Airborne video acquisition system and related equipment to create a video acquisition solution.
4. Airborne 4/5G base station to build a base station access + satellite communication fusion solution.
5. Ad hoc network system to quickly build network coverage capability.
6. Low-altitude navigation application and management business platform and capabilities, with the ability to quickly build and develop a professional low-altitude service platform.
7. Aircraft retrofit services, including airborne system retrofit and airworthiness certification services for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
8. UAV services, cooperating to carry out low-altitude applications such as emergency, inspection, and cultural tourism.
9. UAV monitoring, through radio detection, radar detection and other methods, to create a UAV monitoring plan in key places.
TapTechNews noted that China Telecom has currently jointly launched more than ten consumer-terminal devices that support direct satellite connection functions with domestic mainstream mobile phone terminal manufacturers such as Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and ZTE, and also jointly launched the world's first flagship car equipped with Tiantong satellite communication function with BYD.
