Xiaomi Leads TWS Headphone Market in Mainland China
TapTechNews June 26 news, the market research agency Canalys released the latest insight into the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) true wireless Bluetooth headphone market in Mainland China today.
In the first quarter of 2024, Xiaomi became the TWS brand with the largest shipments in the Mainland China market, followed by Huawei, and Apple ranked third.
Specifically, in the TWS headphone market in Mainland China in the first quarter of 2024:
Xiaomi's shipments were 3 million units, a year-on-year increase of 76.2%, and the proportion of products with ANC active noise cancellation function accounted for 29%.
Huawei's shipments were 2.6 million units, a year-on-year increase of 55.5%, and the proportion of products with ANC active noise cancellation function accounted for 43%.
Apple's shipments were 2 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%, and the proportion of products with ANC active noise cancellation function accounted for 75%.
Edifier's shipments were 1.7 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%, and the proportion of products with ANC active noise cancellation function accounted for 26%.
The agency believes that Xiaomi's newly launched open-type headphones, and with the rapid new product release rhythm and the purchasing and giving activities with Xiaomi smartphones, have significantly increased the shipments of TWS headphones and have maintained double-digit growth for four consecutive quarters.
Huawei's entry-level TWS headphones FreeBuds SE2 have driven the growth of its shipments, and has achieved rapid growth for four consecutive quarters.
In addition, the Personal Intelligent Audio Devices in Mainland China had a shipment of 19.5 million units in the first quarter of 2024, a year-on-year increase of 21.3% compared to 16 million units in the same period last year.
