Google Upgrades GoogleEarth Service for 'Time Travel' Back 80 Years

TapTechNews October 3rd news, Google upgrades the GoogleEarth service, allowing users to take a 'time machine' and go back to the past to trace and view satellite and overhead images from 80 years ago.

TapTechNews quoted the update announcement. This 'time travel back' is only applicable to certain cities including London, Berlin, Warsaw and Paris, and users can trace back to the 1930s.

GoogleEarth can 'go back to the past' and compare historical photos with current photos. Google in a blog post compared San Francisco in 1938 and 2024 to see how much the geographical changes in the area are.

In the sample photos provided by Google, it can be seen that in the 1938 photo, the port of San Francisco was mainly used for transportation. While in the recent photo, the same place is filled with restaurants and cruise ships.
