EHang's Unmanned eVTOL Aircraft Completes First Flight in Saudi Arabia

TapTechNews June 13th news, EHang Intelligent announced that its unmanned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft EH216-S completed the first unmanned air taxi flight in Saudi Arabia ("Saudi") in the holy city of Mecca.

With the support of its partner, Saudi company FrontEnd Limited Company (hereinafter referred to as "FrontEnd"), this flight demonstrated the huge potential of unmanned eVTOL aircraft to transform regional transportation systems, marking a crucial step forward for the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia towards a new mode of transportation.

This flight will help regulatory authorities establish an appropriate regulatory environment for the deployment of eVTOL aircraft, enhance transportation convenience, reduce ground congestion, and promote sustainable development.

TapTechNews previously reported that EHang Intelligent EH216-S unmanned manned aircraft is the world's first fully-certified eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued a production license in Guangzhou on April 7 this year.

Moreover, this aircraft has already completed its first manned flight demonstration in the United Arab Emirates on May 7 this year.
