Start of Commissioning and Testing for Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway Section

TapTechNews on June 21, it reports that the China State Railway Group announced the commissioning and testing of the Chongqing-West to Yibin-East section of the new Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway has started today.

According to the official introduction, the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming passage, one of the main channels of China's 'eight vertical and eight horizontal' high-speed rail network. The line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, and connects to Kunming South Railway Station. It has a total length of 699 kilometers (about 434 miles), with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and a total of 21 stations are planned. The Chongqing-West to Yibin-East section of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is located within the boundaries of Chongqing and Sichuan. The line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station and passes through Shapingba District, Jiulongpo District, Dadukou District, Jiangjin District, Bishan District, Yongchuan District in Chongqing, and Luzhou City and Yibin City in Sichuan, and finally reaches Yibin East Railway Station.

The official points out that after the completion and opening of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, it will further improve the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, strengthen the connection between the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and the Central Yunnan region, significantly reduce the railway travel time from Chongqing to Kunming, greatly improve the travel conditions for the people along the line, and promote the high-quality development of the economy and society along the line.
