'Like a Dragon' Studio Hints at New Project, Updates on Sequels and Live-action Drama

TapTechNews July 8th news, according to FandomWire's report today, the studio of the game 'Like a Dragon' hinted at an ongoing new project at the 'Essence of Fandom' event of the Anime Expo.

'What kind of game this is, we can't tell you yet. But now we can reveal that you will be greatly surprised.' The studio said so. And according to the fans who attended the event on site, the studio meant a sequel of the 'Like a Dragon' series, not other series works.

'Like a Dragon' (Japanese name: 龍が如く, English name: Like a Dragon, officially translated as 'A Man Among Dragons') is an action adventure game series produced and distributed by Sega, which combines elements of beat 'em up and dramatic role-playing game types. The first work was released on the PlayStation 2 platform in 2005.

Based on TapTechNews' previous reports, the live-action drama of 'Like a Dragon' titled 'Like a Dragon ~Beyond the Game~' is set to be released on October 24th. The film is supervised by Takeshi Masaki who directed 'The Naked Director', and Ryoma Takeuchi, the protagonist of 'Kamen Rider Drive', portrays Kiryu Kazuma. In addition, 'Like a Dragon 8' has also been officially released at the beginning of this year, starting from 349 yuan in the Steam China region and 468 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 436 RMB) in the Hong Kong region, supporting intelligent distribution, supporting Chinese voice, and supporting 4K, 60fps+, and Xbox Series X|S performance enhancements.
