New Version of Open Source HongMeng Set to Launch, OpenHarmony Developer Conference 2024 Scheduled for May 25

TapTechNews reports on May 11 that the OpenAtom Foundation has announced the OpenHarmony Developer Conference 2024 will take place on May 25, featuring one main forum and six technical sub-forums. The focus will be on the upcoming new version of OpenHarmony.

OpenHarmony has been updated to the latest OpenHarmony 4.1 Release version, with the development kit upgraded to API 11 Release. According to the official announcement, OpenHarmony 5.0 is expected to be released in the third quarter of this year.

Compared to the 4.0 Release version, improvements in 4.1 Release summarized by TapTechNews include: enhancement in more than 4,000 APIs, enriching application development capabilities;

Application development openness is now displayed in Kit dimensions, offering developers clearer logic and scenario-based perspectives;

ArkUI components' openness and dynamic capabilities have been further enhanced;

Web capabilities have been completed, facilitating developers to quickly build applications using web technologies;

Distributed capabilities have enhanced networking stability and connection security;

Media support has enriched encoding capabilities and supports more refined playback control, among others.

OpenHarmony is an open-source project incubated and operated by the OpenAtom Foundation, aimed at fostering the flourishing development of an interconnected industry by establishing an OS framework and platform for intelligent terminal devices, catering to an all-scenario, fully-connected, and intelligent era.
