Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Build 26244 Preview Update with Improvements and Fixes

TapTechNews June 29th news, Microsoft today released the Windows 11 Build 26244 preview update for Windows Insider program members in the Canary channel.

Changes and improvements

[General]

This update makes general improvements and fixes in details, which can improve the experience of Windows Insider members.

[Windows Backup]

If users access Settings > Account > Windows Backup, and tick Personalization and Other Windows Settings, then the sound settings (including the selected sound scheme) will be backed up and can be restored through the Windows Backup application.

[Settings]

To ensure that users do not lose access to Microsoft accounts, Microsoft will launch a new banner with an Add Now button under Settings > Account.

Added a GamePass recommendation card on the settings home page. After users log in to the Windows 11 system with a Microsoft account, if users often play games, a GamePass recommendation card will appear on the home page of the Home Edition and Professional Edition settings.

Microsoft further migrates the functions of the Control Panel, redirecting the link of the Font Control Panel page to the Font Settings page of Settings > Personalization > Fonts.

Fixes

[Others]

Fixed the problem that some Windows Insider members popped up the Pcasvc.dll error dialog and showed the Missingentry: PcaWallpaperAppDetect error after upgrading from Windows 11 version 22H2/23H2.
