TapTechNews learned that the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and finally arrives at Huzhou Station in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The total length of the line is about 163.8 kilometers (101.77 miles), and the designed speed is 350 kilometers (217.5 miles) per hour. It sets up 8 stations including Shanghai Hongqiao, Shanghai Songjiang, Liantang, Suzhou South, Shengze, Huzhou Nanxun, Huzhou East, and Huzhou Station, which is a major project for the infrastructure interconnection of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Huzhou, and also a key project for the high-speed railway networking, complementing, and strengthening the chain in the Yangtze River Delta.

The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway officially started track laying in March 2024, and the entire track-laying construction starts from Shanghai Songjiang Station and conducts long-track direct laying to both Shanghai Hongqiao Station and Huzhou Station. For the ballastless track section of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway, the WZ500E long-track track-laying machine is used, and the fastest daily track-laying is 12 kilometers (7.46 miles). For the ballasted track section, the CYP500 long-track track-laying machine independently developed by China Railway Erju is used, and the fastest daily track-laying is 2.5 kilometers (1.55 miles).

"Yangtze River Delta Railway" said that the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway is expected to enter the static acceptance stage by the end of July this year and will have the conditions for opening to traffic by the end of the year. After its completion and operation, it will further improve the regional road network layout and effectively relieve the transportation pressure on the Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou railway corridors.
