TapTechNews July 31st news, after a four-year long wait, Virtuix finally announced that its integrated home VR treadmill OmniOne will be officially launched in the US in September. This product was initially planned to be on the market by the end of 2021, but it has been postponed repeatedly.

Unlike previous VR treadmill products, the biggest feature of OmniOne is its complete ecosystem. It is equipped with a VR headset with a dedicated app store, and the game contents are all optimized for the treadmill. The VR headset was initially planned to use PicoNeo2, but due to the multiple postponements of OmniOne, the higher-configured Pico4Enterprise was finally selected, which version has eye tracking, face tracking and faster memory. It should be noted that OmniOne will not use Pico's platform and app store, but will carry its own Omni store, and developers can develop VR content for the treadmill through its SDK.

Virtuix said that Omni store will initially offer more than 50 games, including popular titles such as Alvo and Ancient Dungeon.

In fact, OmniOne is not a traditional treadmill without a moving running belt. Users wear special shoes and slide on a concave disc-shaped base while using a safety harness fixed on the arm to keep the body stable. This device is sometimes called a sliding treadmill.

Consumers can pay $200 to pre-order with full refund, and the balance of $2395 will be collected when the product is about to be shipped.
