TSMC's Revenue Surpasses Expectations with 3nm and 5nm Processes in 2024

TapTechNews August 27th news, DigiTimes released a report on August 23rd, stating that with only two processes of 3nm and 5nm, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) broke through 1 trillion New Taiwan dollars in revenue in the first three quarters of 2024 (TapTechNews note: currently about 223.706 billion Chinese yuan), exceeding industry expectations.

The report said that TSMC's revenue grew rapidly in the second quarter of 2024, reaching 336.7 billion New Taiwan dollars, accounting for about 40% of the total revenue in the first three quarters of 2024.

In the past few quarters, TSMC has been in a leading position in the industry in terms of process adoption and revenue.

With the rise of the artificial intelligence boom and the readiness of companies such as Apple to launch their next-generation product lineups, TSMC's process orders have also risen, and the demand for 3nm and 5nm processes from customers is particularly strong.

DigiTimes also estimates that TSMC's total revenue in the third quarter of 2024 will reach 754 billion New Taiwan dollars, of which at least 50% comes from the 3nm and 5nm series.
