TapTechNews on June 30th, according to Digitimes, Samsung has expressed interest in joining the UALink alliance aimed at promoting Samsung's foundry business to better meet the needs of customers.
At the 2024 Samsung Foundry Forum, TaeJoongSong, head of Samsung's foundry business development, said that Samsung is interested in the efforts made by UALink to standardize the interconnection of AI chips and mentioned that Samsung is exploring how to support and possibly join the alliance.
TapTechNews previously reported that many tech giants such as AMD, Google, Microsoft, Intel, Broadcom, and Cisco have established an alliance named UltraAcceleratorLink (UALink), planning to formulate and promote the UALink industry standard and leading the development of connection components between AI accelerator chips in data centers.
The initial UALink 1.0 specification will support connecting up to 1024 accelerators within an AI computing node (Pod), thereby creating a reliable, scalable and low-latency network.
