Anhui Province's Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center Approved

TapTechNews June 27, according to the news of 'Hefei Release' today, the Anhui Province Humanoid Robot Industry Innovation Center has now been approved and will create a domestically first and world-leading humanoid robot research base around the key fields such as industrial production, high-risk operations, medical care and elderly care, cultural education, security patrol, and disaster rescue.

It is reported that the innovation center will be led by the Jianghuai Frontier Technology Collaborative Innovation Center and jointly build an industrial innovation platform integrating research, design, evaluation and marketing with 13 units such as CAS Institute of Advanced Technology, Hefei University of Technology, iFLYTEK, NIO Automobile Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd..

The innovation center will focus on breaking through key technologies such as the development of an integrated joint module, strong limb technology, intelligent brain technology, and agile cerebellum technology for the multi-modal sensory perception fusion and drive control technical problems of humanoid robots. On this basis, the innovation center will gather the strength of the humanoid robot superior platform in Anhui Province to build a system integration center, comprehensive evaluation center, industrial application center, and Wuhu industrial branch center for humanoid robots, forming a development model of the 'production, study, research, and application' integration of the whole chain and promoting the full-process independent research and development and mass production of humanoid robots.

The Jianghuai Frontier Technology Collaborative Innovation Center has established a humanoid robot research center relying on the Tsinghua University intelligent robot team and has a research team with a total number of more than 100 people, and has already built a whole-chain research and development system for the core key technologies of humanoid robots. The self-developed 'Qi Jiang No.1' humanoid robot is undergoing final joint commissioning and testing.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the 'Guiding Opinions on the Innovative Development of Humanoid Robots' in November last year, proposing that by 2025, the humanoid robot innovation system will be initially established, a number of key technologies such as 'brain, cerebellum, limbs' will make breakthroughs to ensure the safe and effective supply of core components. At the same time, the whole machine product will reach the international advanced level and achieve mass production, be demonstrated and applied in scenarios such as special, manufacturing, and livelihood services, and explore and form effective governance mechanisms and means.
