TapTechNews June 29, the news agency Bloomberg released a blog yesterday (June 28) stating that, based on the statistical data of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Apple's domestic iPhone shipments increased by 40% in May this year, continuing the rebound momentum of April.
According to the data calculated by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the shipments of foreign-branded mobile phones in China increased from 3.603 million units in the same period last year to 5.028 million units in May, an increase of 1.425 million units.
Bloomberg said that although the data did not explicitly mention Apple, Apple is dominant among foreign-branded mobile phones, and believes that the growth of foreign-branded mobile phones' shipments is largely due to Apple's performance.
Apple launched a large-scale discount promotion campaign through Tmall in May this year, and the price reduction of some iPhone models was as high as 2300 Chinese yuan ($340).
Apple's sales growth in May continued the continuous growth momentum of the past two months. TapTechNews previously reported that Apple's iPhone shipments in China increased by 52% in April.
