ICQ is a contraction of ISeekYou, which can be translated into Chinese as I'm looking for you. QQ was originally called OICQ, which was a imitation of ICQ. The O stands for opening, representing the open ICQ, and later it was renamed QQ in 2000.

In its heyday, there were more than 100 million users on the ICQ platform, which was a remarkable achievement at that time. In 2010, ICQ was acquired by Mail.ru (now VK), and since then, as the usage of the product has declined, ICQ has been owned by the latter.

TapTechNews attached a screenshot of ICQ as follows: The page shows that the service will be closed on June 26, and suggests that users switch to VK Messenger and Workspace. ICQ did not disclose the reason for the closure, and several tech media sent letters and have not received relevant responses so far.
