It is worth mentioning that not long ago on June 27, Geely Automobile also released the Shendan short-blade lithium iron phosphate battery with a similar name. The energy density of the Shendan short-blade battery is 192 Wh/kg, it has a cycle life of 3500 laps, the safe driving mileage exceeds 1 million miles, and it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 17 minutes. It will be the first to be installed on the new all-electric SUV Geely Galaxy E5 .

According to TapTechNews' previous report, GGII (Gaogong Industry Research Institute) released a report last December, expecting that the planned blade battery production capacity in China in the next two years (2024, 2025) will exceed 200 GWh, and more than 10 battery enterprises (including those built by OEMs) will layout the blade battery.

The blade battery is mainly used in models of brands such as BYD, GAC New Energy, Hongqi, Zeekr, Skyworth Automobile, and Tesla. Compared to traditional-sized batteries, the aspect ratio of most of them is greater than 7, and mostly adopts the laminated technology process. Due to its innovative structure, the blade battery is more suitable for the integrated module process.

The data shows that the shipment volume of the blade battery in China in 2023 exceeded 140 GWh, mainly concentrated in Fudi Battery, SVOLT Energy and other enterprises.
