TapTechNews July 13th, according to GameFile, Ubisoft confirmed that it has cancelled the live-action series adaptation project of its racing game Driver (also translated as Driver: San Francisco, Driver: Test Drive) series.
Ubisoft announced in 2021 to cooperate with the streaming service Binge to produce the live-action series of Driver. It is reported that one of the related production companies, HotrodTannerLLC, has been dissolved in January this year.
The latest work of the mainline game of this series is still Driver: San Francisco in 2011, which landed on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii game consoles on August 30, 2011, on Windows PC on September 27, and on the Mac platform in March the following year. Currently, the game has been removed from the Steam platform.
Ubisoft told the media that although the live-action adaptation plan was hindered, the company is still planning to launch other projects of this IP.
We are actively carrying out other exciting projects related to this series and can't wait to share more information in the future.
TapTechNews previously reported that Ubisoft officially announced the start of filming of the Watch Dogs movie earlier this month.
