TapTechNews August 12th news, Changan Automobile has launched a brand new UNI-Z pure fuel vehicle model today. There are three configurations including Longteng type, Luxury type, and Distinguished type, and the price range is from $14,985 to $17,980. The new car is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a maximum torque of 221 lb-ft. From now until August 31st, car purchase can enjoy a limited-time preferential policy, including $299 exchanging for $14,950 car purchase money and a $899 full-brand replacement subsidy.
In the exterior design, the UNI-Z fuel version is consistent with the plug-in hybrid version, adopting the UNI family design language and positioned as a compact SUV. The front face is equipped with a large-size front grille, and the two headlight groups are integrated with the dot-matrix middle net. There are triangular ventilation openings on both sides of the front bumper, and the lower heat dissipation opening is equipped with a black front lip, making the overall design more sporty.
On the side of the body, the waistline runs through the body to the rear, and the front and rear fender flares slightly outwards, forming a wide-body visual effect. The floating roof and the concave rib line design in the door enhance the sense of power of the vehicle. The rear uses a through-type LED taillight group, and there is no setting of the relevant words about the power level of traditional fuel vehicles. The obvious difference compared to the plug-in hybrid version is that it uses a bilateral four-outlet exhaust decoration, and the charging interface and cover on the passenger side rear are cancelled.
TapTechNews noticed that the Changan UNI-Z 1.5T version continues to provide configurations such as face recognition outside the vehicle, reversing automatic downward-folding exterior rearview mirrors, front and rear parking radars, 19-inch rims, openable panoramic sunroof, and electric tailgate.
In the interior, the new car adopts the design concept of new energy vehicles, and is standard with a 10.25-inch rectangular LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central touch display screen, combined with a flat-bottom inner polygonal color-matched steering wheel, and is equipped with an electronic shift mechanism in the style of a yacht shift lever.
