TapTechNews August 12th news, according to the Chinese Science Bulletin report, the Mazu - Ocean Waves forecasting model independently developed by the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has achieved many successful applications.

The Mazu - Ocean Waves model is one of the series of scientific and technological research tasks of the major innovation project of the Ministry of Natural Resources Marine Forecasting Chip Project. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center and Ocean University of China, as the undertakers, aiming at the prominent problems such as the severe dependence on foreign models in ocean wave numerical forecasting, the lack of independent technology, and the long computing time consumption, concentrated on conducting independent technological research.

The Mazu - Ocean Waves model includes modules such as computational grid generation, numerical computing, post-processing and product production, and accuracy inspection. The system has complete functions and can provide operational products of global and regional ocean wave numerical forecasting for the next 7 days.

The results of the operational trial run show that the Mazu - Ocean Waves model is efficient and reliable, with a failure rate of less than one percent, and compared with the existing operational ocean wave numerical forecasting models, the computing energy efficiency is significantly improved, and the forecasting accuracy is significantly enhanced, meeting the requirements of operational operation.

TapTechNews learned that during the impact of the super typhoon Gemi No. 3 this year, China's independently developed Mazu - Ocean Waves model was used for the first time in ocean wave warning, providing important support for the timely and accurate warning of ocean waves.
