Qingdao to Build World-Class Marine AI Large Model Industrial Agglomeration Area

TapTechNews June 12th news, the General Office of the Qingdao Municipal People's Government printed and distributed the Implementation Plan for the Construction of the Marine Artificial Intelligence Large Model Industrial Agglomeration Area in Qingdao (2024 - 2026) on June 7th.

By 2026, the foundation of the marine artificial intelligence large model industry will be more solid, the scale will continue to expand, the ecological environment will accelerate to form, and the empowerment of the transformation and upgrading of the marine industry will be more obvious. The pioneering, leading, and exemplary roles at home and abroad will be further strengthened, and a world-class marine artificial intelligence large model industrial agglomeration area will be created.

Build a scientific and technological innovation source, and construct a 1 + N + X marine artificial intelligence large model system including the basic large model matrix including the Han Hai Xing Yun large model, and N industry large models represented by the Wen Hai large model and the port large model, and X key application scenarios.

Build a key element support area, and strive to reach a total computing power of 12 EFLOPS and a total storage of 10 EB in the city by 2026.

Build a gathering place for leading enterprises, turn the Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park into an artificial intelligence industrial park showing marine characteristics globally, and build Qingdao Blue Valley into an international influential Marine Computing Valley, Intelligence Valley, and Data Valley.

Some of the main tasks are as follows:

Strengthen the research on cutting-edge basic theories such as artificial intelligence mathematical mechanism, advanced machine learning, and Hybrid Expert Model Technology (MoE).

Carry out research on key technologies such as the construction, training, and optimization of marine artificial intelligence large models and the interpretability of large models.

Make key breakthroughs in cutting-edge cross-technologies such as marine digital twin and marine multimodal intelligent computing.

Strengthen the basic research on key devices such as artificial intelligence chips and intelligent sensors, and focus on breaking through bottleneck technologies such as new materials, new architectures, new processes, and new devices.

Develop cutting-edge technologies in the field of artificial intelligence such as quantum computing, guide the city's advantageous units to strengthen the collaborative innovation of domestic software and hardware, strengthen compatibility and adaptation, and accelerate the construction of a full-stack domestic technology system from the bottom hardware to the top application.

Form an innovation consortium with universities, research institutes, leading enterprises, and new R & D institutions in the marine field, and create a batch of key laboratories and artificial intelligence innovation platforms. Promote the innovative development and large-scale application of the Marine Big Data Center of the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Accelerate the construction of computing infrastructure such as the marine artificial intelligence computing center and the undersea computing center, and promote the integrated advancement of general computing, intelligent computing, and supercomputing to achieve computing capacity expansion, quality improvement, and upgrading.

Actively adapt and deploy self-controlled domestic chips, and promote the innovative development and large-scale application of domestic computing power operating systems and basic software.

Accelerate the construction of the Qingdao City Computing Power Overall Scheduling Platform, layout the one network of computing power in the city, improve the computing power cloud service ability, promote the collaborative deployment of edge computing power, and improve t he utilization efficiency of computing power. Strive to create the national supercomputing Internet Qingdao hub node, and actively integrate into and serve the Shandong Computing Network and the national integrated computing power network.
