Fuzhou Metro Launches 'Gate Always Open' Pilot and 'Entering and Exiting the Same Station' Service
TapTechNews June 17th news, following Shanghai and Shenzhen, according to the official public account of "Fuzhou Metro", "to further facilitate passengers' travel and improve the outbound turnstile traffic efficiency at stations", from now until September 15th during peak hours (7:00 - 9:00 am, 17:00 - 19:00 pm) at "Houting" Station on Fuzhou Metro Line 2 and "PUSHANGDA DAO" Station on Line 5 will pilot the "gate always open" model.
According to the introduction, the "gate always open" model of the metro means that the station turnstile remains open all the time, and passengers can pass directly after validating their tickets without having to wait for the turnstile door to open, and the subsequent passengers do not need to wait for the turnstile leaf to close and open again to pass continuously, thereby further saving waiting time and improving the traffic efficiency.
When encountering an invalid ticket or passing without a ticket, the turnstile leaf will automatically close to block the passage. At this time, passengers need to re-swipe their cards or scan codes or seek the assistance of staff when necessary to handle abnormal ticket situations.
TapTechNews also noted that Fuzhou Metro has also launched a convenient service measure of "entering and exiting the same station". If passengers cancel their rides within 10 minutes after entering the turnstile, they can go to the customer service center of the entry station to handle the ticket refund before exiting the turnstile, and it will not be accepted if it exceeds 10 minutes, or if the non-entry at the same station has exited and deducted the fee or the one-way ticket has been recycled.
