Apple to Develop New AI Technology Independent of Siri

TapTechNews August 27th news, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg posted a blog on August 25th, indicating that Apple has decided to start anew and independently develop a new generation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology outside of Siri.

Apple has officially announced the introduction of AppleIntelligence in the iOS18 system, by integrating AI voice assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini, and transforming Siri to bring a smarter and more comprehensive AI experience, but some functions will not be released until 2025.

Gurman said that although the newly born Siri has broad prospects, Apple has already been developing another more personalized AI experience.

TapTechNews translates the content of its PowerOn part as follows:

An important part of a robot's work is to create personality. Siri is the digital assistant on Apple's existing devices, and the company is developing another human-like interface based on generative AI. As far as I know, it can run on desktop products and other future Apple robotic devices.

This passage raises many interesting questions about the future of Siri:

Why does Apple's robotic product need an independent anthropomorphic personality?

Will the generative AI that powers this new personality be more advanced than Siri?

Will this next-generation project eventually only carry the brand of Siri?

Since Apple's first robotic project is not expected to debut until 2026 or 2027, it is too early to answer these questions now.
