EVE Energy Releases Open Source Battery for Commercial Vehicles 3C Fast Charging, Intelligent Management Covers Vehicles from Minivans to Heavy Trucks

TapTechNews reports on May 11th, a new product launch event for EVE Energy's commercial vehicle batteries was held in Huizhou, Guangdong Province on the morning of May 9th.

Liu Jianhua, President of EVE Energy, stated that the power batteries have become one of EVE Energy's three major businesses, with the commercial vehicle battery sector being the main force. This new product launch aims to provide better support for customers.

Dr. Jiang Jibing, the head of EVE Energy’s Battery System Research Institute, introduced the open source battery for commercial vehicles. The name was inspired by the term 'OpenSource' from the AI and Internet sector, reflecting the hope that everyone can enjoy the benefits of widely accessible technology, and expresses EVE Energy’s wish to help commercial vehicle operators to 'increase income and reduce expenditures'.

This series of products uses 3C fast charging technology, claiming that it only takes 15 minutes to fast charge from 20% to 80% SOC, which reduces the charging time by 67% compared to conventional batteries. Not only does it offer 4C pulse and 3C continuous discharge capabilities, but it also increases the cycle life to 7000 times. After undergoing a 9mm battery pack diagonal twisting test, it still maintains good structural integrity and airtightness after 60,000 twists.

The open source battery incorporates fast ion conductive composite cathodes and clustered graphite conductive anodes, as well as the new CTB all-zone foaming technology and dual-sided cooling technology, which claims to 'precisely control the battery temperature.'

On the smart management front, this battery uses a fully self-developed BMS platform and online SOX estimation technology to provide users with more accurate intelligent management services. Furthermore, officials also provide operation and maintenance services through software OTA online upgrades and fault prediction based on a big data cloud platform.

TapTechNews noted that the newly released open source battery series includes four types of battery cells: LF125P, LF125H, LF140P, and LF150P. These are further developed into four major platform products: Minivan M3/M4, Light Truck T3, Heavy Truck H2, and Heavy Truck H3, catering to different fields in the commercial vehicle sector.
