XPeng Motors Announces Q2 Results and New P7+ Sedan Launch

TapTechNews August 20th news, XPeng Motors today announced its latest Q2 financial report: revenue of 8.11 billion yuan ($1.16 billion), a year-on-year increase of 60.2%; 30,207 vehicles delivered, a year-on-year increase of 30.2%.

In the post-earnings conference call, He Xiaopeng, the chairman of XPeng Motors, announced that a new-generation sedan product, the P7+, will be officially launched in the fourth quarter.

He said that the P7+ will be the first model of XPeng's new-generation autonomous driving hardware platform. As the result of exceeding the set goals of reducing the cost of autonomous driving hardware and the vehicle BOM, the P7+ has greater advantages in technological innovation and cost.

TapTechNews noted that the XPeng P7+ has already appeared in the list of applications to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month, with dimensions of 5056×1937×1512mm (about 16.6×6.36×4.96 feet) and a wheelbase of 3000mm (about 9.84 feet), and the single-motor version has a maximum power of 180kW/230kW.

According to the content of the official previous earnings conference call, this XPeng P7+ is expected to be the new B-class all-electric sedan to be launched in the fourth quarter and is also the first model to achieve the goal of reducing the technical cost by 25%.

He Xiaopeng said that after the delivery ramps up of the MONAM03 and the P7+, it will significantly expand XPeng's market share.
