TapTechNews reports on May 11 that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella communicated to all employees last year, announcing a decision to freeze raises after months of deliberation due to harsh economic conditions.

According to Business Insider, Microsoft has now 'overcome these difficulties.' Scott Guthrie, Executive Vice President of Microsoft's Cloud Computing and AI, indicated in a company-wide meeting that there would be an increase in performance-based raises this year.

Microsoft has surpassed Apple to become the highest valued company globally, and with its early initiatives in AI, integrated into its product line, has been warmly embraced by investors. Some market analysts predict the upcoming 'AI iPhone era' for this tech giant.

TapTechNews cites that Microsoft began its annual performance reviews last month and might notify employees about the performance pay results in August, with disbursements in late September.

Following several security incidents recently, Microsoft is shifting focus towards cybersecurity and has established comprehensive measures to mitigate what has been a series of security mishaps.

A notable change is requiring senior executives to be accountable for cybersecurity, linking part of their compensation to achieving specific security goals and metrics.
