Kia's New EV3 Debuts with Promising Features

TapTechNews May 23rd news, Kia's brand-new model EV3 has completed its debut today. The new car will be launched in its home country of South Korea in July this year, and then gradually enter overseas markets starting from the end of this year. The target price is between $35,000 and $50,000 (TapTechNews note: currently about 254,000 yuan to 363,000 yuan).

The new car is positioned as a small pure electric SUV, adopting the family's latest 'Unity of Opposites' language. The front face is equipped with a '7'-shaped headlight, and the middle net is similar to the classic 'Tiger Nose' design that Kia has formed since the fuel vehicle era. The overall lines of the car are tough, mainly featuring a crossover style, with a length of 4300mm, a height of 1560mm, and a wheelbase of 2680mm.

In terms of interior, while the new car is equipped with two 12.3-inch screens, it also retains a large number of physical buttons. The central armrest can move back and forth, and the rear seat can also be fully folded to fit an electric bicycle and charge it. It is introduced that the appearance and interior of EV3 use a large amount of recyclable materials and bio-derived parts. Its dashboard is made of sugar cane, and the plastic parts of the body are made of recycled plastic bottles.

In terms of power, the new car adopts a 400V architecture platform and provides two versions of single motor/double motor, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes. Among them, the single-motor front-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 150kW and provides two batteries of 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh. The maximum cruising range under the WLTP working condition can reach 560km, and the power information of the dual-motor version has not been disclosed for the time being.
