Stellantis to Launch 25,000-Dollar Jeep EV to Boost US Market

TapTechNews May 30 - To boost consumers' interest, Stellantis plans to launch a Jeep electric vehicle priced at 25,000 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 181,000 Chinese yuan). This is to address the continuously sluggish electric vehicle demand in the US market.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares confirmed that the company plans to offer a 25,000-dollar electric Jeep model. The detailed information has not been disclosed yet, but the company said the pricing of this model will be very acceptable for consumers.

Carlos Tavares said, 'Just like we introduced the 20,000-euro Citroen e-C3, you will soon see the 25,000-dollar Jeep. This can completely be achieved within our engineering field.'

Stellantis also plans to push its Jeep product line towards a hybrid system, which is also an area of concern for many automotive companies. Carlos Tavares said that he believes 25,000 US dollars is the price range of the 'entry-level pure electric vehicle' in the US market. He also believes that the company has a responsibility to provide users with ultra-affordable cars so that consumers are more likely to choose electric vehicles.
