Weifang-Yantai High-Speed Railway Starts Joint Commissioning and Testing

TapTechNews July 13th news, according to the report of CCTV News, at 8 am on July 13th, the joint commissioning and testing of the Weifang-Yantai High-Speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Weiyan High-Speed Railway) officially started, and the countdown to the opening of traffic and operation has begun.

The main line of the Weiyan High-Speed Railway is 237.3 kilometers in total length, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The line passes through Changyi City, Weifang, Pingdu City, Qingdao, Laizhou City, Zhaoyuan City, Longkou City, Penglai District, Development Zone, Fushan District, and Zhifu District in Yantai. The line started construction in December 2020 and completed the static acceptance in early July 2024.

There are a total of Changyi, Hui Bu, Laizhou, Zhaoyuan, Longkou City, Penglai City, Yantai West, Fushan, Zhifu, and Yantai South 10 stations along the line. Among them, Hui Bu Station, Laizhou Station, Zhaoyuan Station, Yantai West Station, and Fushan Station are 5 newly-built stations.

The relevant person in charge of the Shandong Weiyan High-Speed Railway Company introduced that there are 88 bridges and 8 tunnels along the Weiyan High-Speed Railway, among which the longest tunnel is the Lingshan Tunnel with a length of 1981 meters (about 1.23 miles). At present, all the static acceptance of the entire line project has been completed, all the equipment rooms have been put into use, and the production and living houses have met the occupancy conditions, and the conditions for starting the joint commissioning and testing have been met.

TapTechNews learned that the Weiyan High-Speed Railway is an important part of the coastal passage of the national eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway network. After completion, it will be connected with the Qingrong Intercity and Weirong High-Speed Railway, and the Jiaodong Peninsula will realize a high-speed railway ring.
