ZF's OnGuardMAX Enhanced Version for Commercial Vehicles Revolutionizing Intelligent Driving and Safety
TapTechNews August 23rd news, ZF Commercial Vehicle Solutions Division announced today that the OnGuardMAX enhanced version product of the advanced driver assistance system specifically developed for commercial vehicles has successfully achieved mass production, successfully realizing the first commercial operation of full-speed ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) for commercial vehicles in the industry and taking the lead in landing at Chinese clients, enhancing the safety level of commercial vehicle intelligent driving technology.
It is introduced that the automatic emergency braking system (AEBS) OnGuardMAX specifically developed for commercial vehicles that ZF mass-produced in the Chinese market in 2021 complies with the regulatory requirements for pedestrian protection in China. With the continuous improvement of the demand for vehicle safety, intelligence and comfort in the commercial vehicle industry, the OnGuardMAX enhanced version product has successfully achieved mass production.
This product adopts the unique in the industry telephoto + fisheye binocular camera and 77GHz millimeter-wave radar technology, combined with algorithms and control systems, which can monitor the surrounding environment of the vehicle in real time and automatically adjust the vehicle speed and driving trajectory according to the driving conditions to achieve functions including full-speed domain adaptive cruise control (FSRACC) including automatic vehicle following start-stop, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, sensor dynamic calibration, driver fatigue warning, intelligent speed assistance, and urban bus collision mitigation.
This product is compatible with various vehicle platform models, and has currently been mass-produced at Chinese clients. ZF OnGuardMAX enhanced version is claimed to be the first product in the industry with full-speed ACC function for commercial vehicles, allowing the vehicle to maintain a safe distance from the preceding vehicle at any speed and automatically adjust the vehicle speed according to the driving state of the preceding vehicle. Even if the preceding target vehicle completely stops and restarts again, FSRACC will also support the vehicle to automatically follow the preceding vehicle to stop and restart accordingly.
In addition, in the design and manufacturing process of OnGuardMAX enhanced version, important factors such as regulatory compliance have also been considered. Therefore, the new version can meet the technical requirements of the latest GSR regulations in Europe and better support Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers to expand overseas markets.
