Alphabet Names New CFO from Eli Lilly

On the evening of June 5, Beijing time, Google's parent company, Alphabet, announced today that Anat Ashkenazi, the chief financial officer (CFO) of Eli Lilly, will become the new CFO of Alphabet starting from July 31.

Approximately one year ago, Alphabet had announced that the company's current CFO, Ruth Porat, would resign as CFO and instead take on the role of president and chief investment officer.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in a press release, 'We are very pleased to have found such a strong CFO. Ashkenazi has a history of focusing on long-term investment to drive innovation and growth.'

Ashkenazi joined Eli Lilly in 2001 and has worked for 23 years, and has been serving as CFO since 2021.

Eli Lilly also confirmed her departure in a press release and said that Ashkenazi will continue to work for Eli Lilly until she officially leaves the company.

And Porat had served as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley for nearly 30 years and ultimately held the CFO position before joining Google in 2015. In July last year, Alphabet announced that Porat would transfer to the newly created position of president and chief investment officer of the company.
