Guangzhou's Future Transportation Plan High-Speed Magnetic Levitation and More

TapTechNews May 22nd news, on May 17th, the General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government issued the 'Guangzhou Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transportation Network Plan (2023-2035)' (hereinafter referred to as the 'Plan').

The 'Plan' disclosed that Guangzhou is promoting the formation of ten high-speed rail channels out of the province, and taking the lead in planning and constructing the layout and experimental line of high-speed magnetic levitation channels between other megacities, reserving 2 channels of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao high-speed magnetic levitation and Shanghai (Shenzhen)-Guangzhou high-speed magnetic levitation (TapTechNews note: The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong channel belongs to the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao channel).

If actually built, the distance between Shanghai and Guangzhou is about 1600 kilometers, and it can be reached within 3 hours (currently the fastest operating high-speed rail takes 6 hours and 48 minutes).

Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao channel, from Guangzhou via Changsha, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang to Beijing. Composed of 1 reserved magnetic levitation line, 1 high-speed railway, 1 general-speed railway, 3 expressways, and 1 general national highway.

Coastal channel (east), from Guangzhou via Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Ningbo to Shanghai. Composed of 1 reserved magnetic levitation line, 2 high-speed railways, 1 expressway, and 1 general national highway.

Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong channel, from Guangzhou via Dongguan, Shenzhen to Hong Kong. Composed of 1 reserved magnetic levitation line, 2 high-speed railways, 2 intercity railways, and 2 expressways.

The 'Plan' also mentioned that by 2035, Guangzhou will realize the '12312' travel traffic circle, that is, 1-hour access to the major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, 2-hour access to the eastern, western and northern regions of Guangdong, 3-hour access to the major cities in China and Southeast Asia, and about 12-hour access to the major cities in the world; and realize the '123' fast freight logistics circle, that is, 1-day delivery in domestic cities, 2-day delivery in the major cities in Southeast Asia, and 3-day delivery in the major cities in the world.
